Production and Post Production

Danger Dog Films is a film and television production company specializing in films that motivate, inspire, educate, entertain and have the ability to move us in meaningful ways.

"Sherpa Stew" Nepal production is successfully funded
on Kickstarter.com

We are currently in production on "Sherpa Stew," a documentary about two mountaineers who move from the high Himalaya of Nepal to New York City.

This independent film is mostly self-financed
and needs finishing funds. As part of our efforts to raise funds we posted the film on Kickstarter.com and after 45 days the film successfully reached it's goal thanks to many supporters. Thanks to them, and to Kickstarter.com!

The film will still need funding for post production and we are currently in the process of applying for film grants. If you would like to support the film in some way, please contact us via our email;
andycockrum@dangerdogfilms.com

You can also support the film by buying a "Special Offer" DVD copy of "Team Everest: A Himalayan Journey", here.

Thank you for supporting both films.

       Why "Danger Dog" Films?

Danger Dog was a dog we met while filming the documentary film "Team Everest: A Himalayan Journey."
He accompanied our expedition on
a 21-day trek to Mount Everest Base Camp. While he would occasionally leave us for his own adventures, he would always rejoin the expedition seeking out our companionship.

Each time he returned, the Sherpas
on our expedition would jokingly warn
us, "Danger. Dog." or "Big Danger!"
But the warning didn't hold, as the dog would often
seek out treats and tummy rubs from members of the expedition, and each night he would sleep "guard" outside our tents.

At the end of our trek, our team boarded a helicopter to begin our journey back to Kathmandu. Through my window, I could see "Danger" watching us as our helicopter lifted into the air. As we flew away and were safely on our way home, "Danger" looked right, then left, and seeming to spot something in the distance, trotted off out of view. I can only assume there was another expedition for him to join.

I named my company "Danger Dog Films" to honor these dogs of Nepal who wander the high Himalaya in search of food, warmth and companionship. It was their presence that made tough days easier, and helped me move forward on this physically exhausting shoot in one of the most beautiful, yet harshest places on earth. Sometimes we need a little "danger" to help us along.
