The Story
"Sherpa Stew" is a documentary film that chronicles the lives of two mountaineers, their families and friends who have left the high Himalaya of Nepal in search of "success" in New York City.

To date, "Sherpa Stew" has primarily been self-financed by the filmmaker, Andy Cockrum. Shooting in cinéma vérité-style as a one-man crew has resulted in minimal impact on the lives of the film's subjects, while keeping the budget low.
While filming of the New York portion of the story has been largely completed, Andy hopes to travel to Nepal in late May 2010 to continue shooting.
Currently we are applying for film grants and anticipate application results in June 2010. Recently the film's Nepal Production was successfully funded by several supporters on Kickstarter.com.
